Accessibility Statement
New Faction Inc d/b/a Madam Vortex is committed to making madamvortex.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and keyboard-only navigation.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities. Accessibility is part of our standard development process, and we review it whenever we make changes to the site.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and page landmarks.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Labels and instructions for every form field, with clear error messages.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators and full keyboard operability, including a skip-to-content link.
- Color contrast that meets WCAG AA for text and interface elements.
- A reduced-motion mode: if your device requests reduced motion, the retro CRT/VHS animations and the optional dial-up intro are disabled automatically.
- Readings are always available as accessible on-page text and email, in addition to the downloadable collectible PDF.
We do not use accessibility overlay or widget products. We believe accessibility should be built into the site itself rather than bolted on.
Ongoing effort & limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and some parts of the site rely on third-party services (for example, our payment provider's hosted checkout) whose interfaces we do not fully control. If you encounter any barrier, we want to fix it — and we will help you complete whatever you were trying to do in the meantime.
Contact us
If you have difficulty using any part of this site, or have feedback about its accessibility, please contact us and we will respond promptly: accessibility [at] madamvortex [dot] com. Please include the page and a description of the problem so we can resolve it as quickly as possible.
This statement reflects our current practices and is reviewed regularly.
